Aughts Songs: #11 Annie - "Heartbeat" from Anniemal ('04)

This song is singlehandedly responsible for Honest Men. Ashleigh and I have always bonded over these upbeat, minor key electronic pop songs and pretty quickly we realized that this was a perfect realization of what we loved about that style. The 10cc-style "Ahhh"s (aka "bondi breath" in Garageband) in the chorus are the crucial element. They blow up the chorus in a way that crashing cymbals cannot.
